also means language and francophone culture, literature, visual arts and media and societies. Through a wide array of French language, literature and linguistic courses, you will broaden your horizons and discover the Francophone world like you have never seen it before. Only French and English are officially spoken in all 5 continents of the World! We believe in theory and hands-on experience. Our programs encourage you to engage with the local community, as well as with Canadian and international universities. The Department of French offers small-sized classes along with instruction that caters to diverse needs and goals.
By studying in the Department of French, you will have access to a variety of scholarships and bursaries. You can also participate in many aspects of student life in French by joining the French Student Union, as well as subscribing to the monthly newsletter, “Vie étudiante”, published by the Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs (OFFA).
