Meet The Farmer: Surrey Farms

July 12, 2023

Surrey Farms, a cherished local gem, is on a mission to deliver the freshest produce straight from their fields to your table. As a family-run farm deeply rooted in the community, their unwavering commitment is to bring the best of their harvests into the homes of families like yours. Join us for SFU's third annual Blueberry Week, where you'll find delicious menu items featuring local blueberries from Surrey Farms!

It all began in 1989 when Surrey Farms cultivated their first plot of land, starting with a humble fruit stand measuring just 5x5 feet. Located at 5180 152 Street, this unassuming spot became the heart of their operation. Despite facing challenges along the way, Surrey Farms persevered, with an unwavering commitment to their customer, they proudly sold their berries and laid the foundation for their lasting legacy.

Today, Surrey Farms spans over 400 acres of lush farmland, specializing in strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Their commitment to quality and freshness is unwavering, reflecting the care and attention they put into each harvest. With open fields inviting families to pick their own berries, Surrey Farms has become a cherished destination, where people from all walks of life gather to enjoy the simple pleasure of farm-fresh goodness.

At the core of Surrey Farms' success lies their deep connection to the local community. By cultivating their produce with passion and sharing it directly with their neighbors, they have fostered a genuine sense of belonging. The farm-to-table concept comes to life as families savor the flavors of the land and create lasting memories together.

Join us on July 17th to the 21st to try a blueberry inspired menu at the Dining Commons, Mackenzie Café and Discovery Café. See the 2023 Blueberry Week menu here.
