How it Works

Teams of 2 or 4 will take on five fitness challenges – including tire flipping, high ball toss, sled pull, burpee broad jumps and rowing — each followed by a 400m run around the track before moving on to the next event.

Teams can register for any heat — but remember, this is a time-based competition. Final standings are based on overall time across all heats. The challenge should take approximately 1 hour, with a cutoff time of 1.25 hours.

Prizes will be awarded for the fastest team, the best costume, and the best sportsmanship! All teams will also receive a goodie bag, as well as access to our aid station to power them throughout their race.

Competition Stations

Team Event Distanct/Amount
Ball Toss 100 tosses (12lb. ball)
Row 2400m
Tire Flip 50 yards
Sled Pull 160 yards (105lb. sled)
Burpee Broad Jumps 200 yards
Run 6 x 400m

A breakdown of each station is provided below:

100 x 12lb. Team Ball Toss

Starting with two teammates, competitors will stand on opposite sides of the net and pass a 12 lb medicine ball back and forth. Each competitor must complete 25 throws, but teams may strategize the order and duration of each player’s participation. If the ball is dropped, the throw still counts, and the competitor must retrieve the ball before continuing.

PENALTIES:

  • A 10s penalty is applied if the ball is dropped more than 5 passes in a row.

2400m Row

Sharing a single rowing machine, the team must collectively complete 2400 meters of rowing. Each teammate must row a minimum of 250 meters. Teammates are permitted to assist during transitions

160yd Sled Pull

Teams will split into two pairs, each positioned behind designated end zones at opposite ends of the playing area. A weighted sled will sit at one end, with ropes attached to both ends. One athlete at a time enters the pulling zone and hand-over-hand pulls the sled until

it crosses into their end zone. Then, a teammate on the opposite side repeats the process, pulling the sled back across the field. Competitors may enter the pulling zone before their teammate finishes but cannot touch the rope until the sled fully crosses the end zone. This continues until the sled has been pulled eight lengths total, with each competitor completing two pulls.

PENALTIES:

  • A 5s penalty is applied anytime:
  • A competitor steps outside the pulling zone.
  • A competitor grabs the rope before the sled fully crosses into the end zone

50yd Tire Flip

Teams will work together to flip a tire over a linear distance of 50 yards, ensuring the entire tire crosses the finish line to complete the challenge. Athletes may choose to flip the tire together or swap teammates throughout the distance as needed. If the tire bounces or lands unevenly, it may be pushed down to stabilize it before continuing with the next flip.

PENALTIES:

  • A 5s penalty is applied anytime the tire is rolled or slid forward instead of flipped.

200 yd Burpee Broad Jump

This relay-style event starts with a burpee and is followed by a broad jump. The first competitor will perform a series of burpee–broad jump repetitions to move across the playing area. Once both feet cross the end zone, the competitor may tag-in the next teammate. Teams must complete a total of eight passes between end zones, with each athlete completing at least one full pass. Each repetition must meet specific movement standards:

  • The burpee begins with hands placed behind the start line, no more than one foot apart from the feet.
  • Once the hands are placed, they must remain stationary throughout the “push-up”.
  • While strict push-up form is not required, the competitor's chest must make full contact with the ground.
  • Feet may not move past the hands when standing up.
  • Broad jumps must launch from both feet (staggered foot placement is allowed),
  • Jumping is the only allowed method of forward movement; walking or shuffling is not allowed.

PENALTIES:

  • If a competitor fails to meet the above standards, they must return to the previous yard line and continue from there
