SURREY STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

If you are a full-time student taking three or more credits at SFU's Surrey campus, you may be eligible to transfer your Burnaby Student Membership to a Surrey Parks & Recreation Membership.

Surrey Parks & Recreation Memberships are available on a one-term basis and become available to activate on the first day of the term. Membership provides access to City of Surrey operated fitness centres, pools, weight rooms, swim sessions and non-registered aquatics/fitness programs. For facility schedules and registered program information please visit www.surrey.ca.

Steps to Activate a Surrey Student Membership

1. Complete your waiver

  • Confirm your eligibility for a membership covered by student fees.
  • Log in to your student account via go.sfu.ca
  • Click 'Complete your SFU Athletics & Recreation Waiver Now'
  • Read and agree to the waiver.
  • Within one business day, your SFU ID Card and member ID on the SFU Recreation App will be connected to your account.

2. Register for a Surrey Membership 

  • Once the term has begun, log in to the SFU Recreation Registration Portal at athleticsandrecreation.its.sfu.ca.
  • Click the membership icon to view your eligible membership options.
  • If you are eligible, an SFU Membership – Surrey City Pass option will be available to select.
  • Select the eligible membership type and complete the registration process.
  • A receipt verifying the transaction will be emailed to you.

3. Activate 

  • Present your receipt and SFU ID Card to the staff at one of the below listed Surrey Recreation centres. 
  • You will receive a Surrey Parks & Recreation ID Card to use at recreation centres throughout the municipality.

Student Eligibility

To be eligible for a Surrey Parks & Recreation Membership you need to be:

  • A full-time undergraduate or graduate student who is assessed the full Recreation Athletics fee AND
  • Registered in a minimum of 3 credits at the SFU Surrey campus or registered per term at the SFU Surrey campus  

Students can only hold one SFU Recreation Membership at a time. You can choose to keep your Burnaby Recreation Membership instead.

Renew

As an eligible student, you must sign the SFU Athletics & Recreation Waiver each year to maintain your membership. All Student Memberships expire on August 31, regardless of when the waiver was signed. To renew your membership for the new academic year, visit go.sfu.ca each fall and complete the waiver.

To renew your Surrey Student Membership, eligible students must complete steps two and three of the instructions above at the start of each term

Please note that your membership will no longer remain active if your eligibility status changes.
