How do I buy a pass?

Visit athleticsandrecreation.its.sfu.ca and sign in to your account.

  • SFU students, staff, and faculty can log in using their SFU credentials.
  • Non-SFU participants will need to create a new account.
    • Before making a purchase, please navigate to your profile and ensure your date of birth has been added.
  • Fitness passes can be found under Memberships & Day Passes.

For detailed instructions on how to purchase a pass, please watch this video.

How do I reserve a class?

Once you have purchased a pass, visit athleticsandrecreation.its.sfu.ca and select the icon for the program area you'd like to attend:

  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Dance
  • Group Fitness

From there, select your desired class and complete your reservation.

Please note that some cross-listed classes may appear under a different program area. For example, Power Hour is included with the Pilates+ Pass but can be found under the Group Fitness registration icon.

  • Reservations open 7 days before class start time.
  • Reservations are recommended but not required.
  • Pass holders may attend as a walk-in if space is available and should check in with SFU Recreation staff upon arrival

For detailed instructions on how to register for a class, please watch this video.

I purchased a pass. Do I still need to reserve a spot?

Reservations are recommended and help secure your spot in class, particularly for popular offerings.

Pass holders may still attend classes as a walk-in if space is available. Upon arrival, simply check in with the SFU Recreation staff and present proof of a valid pass.

Can non-SFU participants join fitness classes?

Yes! Fitness classes are open to both SFU and non-SFU participants. Student and general pricing options are available for passes and drop-ins.

Where can I find my studio/room?

The Fitness Studio is located on the lower level of the Lorne Davies Complex, down the hallway from the Fitness Centre. It is LDC 091 on SFU Snap Room Finder.

The High Performance Centre is located on the bottom level of the Lorne Davies Complex. It is accessed via the elevator near West Gym. It is LDC 8 on SFU Snap Room Finder.

The TC Studios are located in the Transportation Centre, near the West Mall Centre Starbucks. TC Studio 1 is accessed via the South hallway, and TC Studio 2 is accessed via the North corridor. They are TC 3014 (TC Studio 1) and TC 3013 (TC Studio 2) on SFU Snap Room Finder.

How far in advance can I reserve a class?

Reservations open 7 days before the start of each class through our online reservation system (e.g., All Levels Pilates on September 21 at 12:30 PM – 1:20 PM will open on September 14 at 12:30 PM).

What happens if a class is full?

Spaces can open as participants cancel their reservations. We encourage you to check back regularly for availability. If a class is full, you may still attend as a walk-in and be admitted if space becomes available. Unclaimed reserved spots may be released at the start of class. Please check in with SFU Recreation staff upon arrival.

What if I am late for class?

You may join a class after it has started. If you arrive late, please check in with SFU Recreation staff to avoid being marked as a no-show. For full classes, reserved spots may be released at the start of class if participants have not arrived.

Can I participate without a pass?

Yes. Daily drop-in participation is available for select fitness classes, space permitting.

Drop-In Pricing

  • Student: $20
  • General: $25

Participants must register for the specific class they wish to attend.

Can I try a class before purchasing a pass?

Yes. We encourage new participants to attend Trial Week or register for a daily drop-in class before committing to a semester pass.

What if I can no longer attend a class I reserved?

If you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation as early as possible so another participant can take your spot. This helps ensure classes remain accessible for everyone. Reservations can be reviewed and cancelled through your SFU Recreation Portal Profile.

For more information on how to view your registration and cancel your reservation, please watch this video.

What happens if I forget to cancel my class reservation?

If you do not attend a class and have not cancelled your reservation, you will be marked as a no-show.

Participants are encouraged to cancel their reservation at least 1 hour before class if they can no longer attend.

Repeated no-shows may result in a review of your reservation privileges and could lead to temporary restrictions on future class reservations. This helps ensure class spaces remain available for other participants.

Are classes beginner friendly?

Yes. Almost all classes are designed to accommodate a range of experience levels, including beginners. Instructors provide modifications and options when appropriate. Individual class descriptions will indicate if previous experience is recommended.

Can I attend more than one class per week?

Yes. Pass holders may attend as many eligible classes as they would like throughout the semester. We recommend you register for the class in advance to reserve your spot.

What should I bring to class?

We recommend bringing:

  • A refillable water bottle
  • Comfortable athletic clothing
  • Indoor athletic shoes (where appropriate)

Any additional equipment requirements will be noted in the class description.
