FITNESS PROGRAM POLICIES
Refunds & Transfers
Passes
- Passes are non-refundable within 5 days of the pass start date.
- Exceptions may be considered with a valid medical note or manager approval.
- Passes are non-transferable.
- Refund requests follow SFU Recreation's general Refund Policy unless otherwise stated.
Single-Session Drop-Ins
- Single-session drop-ins are non-refundable.
- Single-session drop-ins are non-transferable.
Pass Access & Usage
- Passes are valid only during the advertised program dates.
- Reservations are recommended and help secure your spot in class.
- Pass holders may attend classes as a walk-in, space permitting.
- Participants attending as walk-ins must present proof of a valid pass at check-in.
- On-site registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis when space permits.
Class Reservations
- Class reservations open 7 days before the scheduled class time.
- Registration closes 15 minutes after the class start time.
Cancellations & No-Shows
- Participants should cancel their reservation at least 1 hour before the class start time if they can no longer attend.
- Frequent no-shows may result in a review of reservation privileges.
- SFU Recreation reserves the right to suspend pass privileges in cases of excessive cancellations or no-shows, or failure to abide by the SFU Recreation Code of Conduct.
Class Cancellations & Schedule Changes
- SFU Recreation reserves the right to cancel, modify, reschedule, relocate, or discontinue classes due to instructor illness, facility issues, low enrollment, weather conditions, operational requirements, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- Classes with no registered participants may be cancelled. Participants are encouraged to reserve a spot at least 4 hours prior to the scheduled start time, as classes without registrations may not proceed as scheduled.
- SFU Recreation will make reasonable efforts to secure a qualified substitute instructor when necessary. Instructor substitutions do not constitute grounds for a refund or credit.
- Participants with a reservation will be notified of class cancellations when reasonably possible.
- Pass holders are not entitled to refunds, credits, or pass extensions as a result of individual class cancellations.
- Where feasible, SFU Recreation may offer a makeup class or alternative participation opportunity for classes cancelled by SFU Recreation; however, such accommodations are not guaranteed and will be provided at the sole discretion of SFU Recreation.
- Single-session drop-in participants affected by a class cancellation may be eligible for a refund or credit toward a future fitness class.
- Class times, locations, and instructors are subject to change without notice.
