Health & Counselling at Simon Fraser University offers pre-doctoral internships and practicum training opportunities in counselling. See below for program details and contact information.
Pre-doctoral Internship in Counselling (Sept - Aug)
There are two full-time paid pre-doctoral internships available for the 2020/2021 academic year. The placement typically begins at the start of September and ends August 31 the following year.
The goal of the program is to provide interns with an opportunity to experience a diverse and comprehensive set of learning and professional activities to enhance their counselling knowledge and skills in preparation for independent practice and registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.

Counselling Practicum Placements
Part-time, unpaid practicum opportunities available to Masters level students in counselling and clinical psychology programs. The experience is designed to enable students to further develop their counselling skills, interests, and professional identities working with an integrated team of counselling, medical, and health promotion professionals.

Caseload: 12-16 clients hours per week
- Fall/Spring Practicum Program
September 2021 – April 2022
An eight-month commitment
2.5 days per week
Caseload: 8-10 client hours per week
