The 2016 Cormack Teaching Awards Symposium took place on October 20th at the Diamond Alumni Centre on Burnaby Mountain. Created in 2010, the awards recognize excellence and innovative teaching within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Each year, the award recipients present on some aspect of their teaching. This year’s winners, Sarah Walshaw (History), Lara Aknin (Psychology), Richard Wright (Psychology), and Gregory Dow (Economics), shared their diverse best practices in making connections, capturing – and keeping – millennials’ attention, and motivating students through real-world observations.
