Why nominate?

The Staff Achievement Awards rely on nominations from staff, faculty, students, alumni and community members like you in order to recognize the great work happening across the university. Taking a moment to submit a nomination is a meaningful way to let your colleague know the positive impact they have -- not only on their immediate team members, but for the SFU community as a whole.

Nominate an outstanding SFU staff member today.

Simon Fraser University staff, students, faculty, alumni and members of the general community may nominate eligible staff from one of the employee groups (APSA and Excluded, CUPE, and Poly Party).

The 2023 staff nominations have closed, information on the 2024 nominations will be made available later this year.

Selection and Award Process

An Awards Selection Committee, appointed by the university, reviews nominations and recommends awards for outstanding employees for each award category. Award recipients will be invited to attend the annual Awards Ceremony for faculty, staff and students of Simon Fraser University, held each year in February.

The Committee may, at their discretion, transfer a nominee from the category they were originally nominated into another category for which they are more qualified.
