Grade 4-5 students in Metro Vancouver invited to create mathematical learning materials

March 13, 2020

SFU Mathematics professor Veselin Jungic created the Math Catcher Outreach program, which encourages Indigenous and non-Indigenous students in grades K-12 to gain a greater understanding and enjoyment of math. The program uses hands-on activities and storytelling in the form of animation to help dispel myths that math is boring and irrelevant to daily life.

Recently, Dr. Jungic began collaborating directly with students to create new animated films, and is inviting more youth to participate.
