EDI LEARNING GROUP
This group is dedicated to educating the SFU mathematics community on subjects related to equity, diversity, and inclusivity through workshops and open dialogues.
Once a month, students, staff, and faculty come together to learn about the myriad subjects related to EDI. Led by the department's own Dr. Sophie Burrill, this group serves to promote learning and create a healthy working environment for everyone at SFU.

Association for Women in Mathematics Student Chapter
An AWM Student Chapter has started here at SFU! The goals of the Student Chapter are to increase support for women and other underrepresented groups in their academic and mathematical journeys, create opportunities for networking/mentorship with women at later career stages in mathematics, and host fun social activities! Any student at SFU is welcome to join, regardless of gender identity or expression, race, colour, religion, age, national origin, sexual orientation, or ability.
Contact awm_student@sfu.ca to join the mailing list, or for a link to join the discord server.

To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, AWM Student Chapter President, MacKenzie Carr, interviewed women of all levels in our department.
