FCAT Pro (formerly known as FCAT CMN8) is a series of professional development workshops designed to develop and build practical skills. Open to all FCAT students, the workshops are led by industry experts and FCAT students.

Podcasting 101: Storytelling Through Audio

Interested in audio? Want to start your own podcast? Learn how to tell better stories in sound in this Podcasting 101 style workshop. We will introduce the key elements of audio storytelling every podcaster needs to know from interview techniques, story structure and podcast planning. We will also review the essentials every podcaster should have in their audio toolkit and the basics of how podcasting works from RSS feeds and more. Open to all skill levels. This workshop will take place Wednesday, December 1st, 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm PST on Zoom, led by Stacey Copeland.


Stacey Copeland is a media producer and Ph.D. Candidate at Simon Fraser University’s School of Communication. With over a decade of media industry experience in radio and podcasting, she is currently the project manager and supervising producer of the Amplify Podcast Network.
