FCAT Research

Research at the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology (FCAT) encompasses a wide-range of leading interdisciplinary scholarship, with innovative and award-winning contributions in human creativity and critical making, data and media democracy, Indigenous media and institutions, design research and creative technologies. FCAT research is both national and international. It is at the heart of academic, industry and community engagement, student training and curriculum development. Our researchers are members of the School of Interactive Arts and Technology, School of Communication, School for the Contemporary Arts, the Publishing Program and Centre for Digital Media.

The Research Team at the FCAT Dean's Office provides professional research development and facilitation services to support FCAT researchers. Services are aimed at the preparation and submission of the most competitive research funding proposals, promoting and recognizing research achievements, collaborating and communicating with other SFU offices and funding agencies on information, relevant policies and procedures.
