Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Fall 2019 GEOG451/651 course on Spatial Modeling had the opportunity to participate in a one-day field trip to the 2019 Esri Canada User Conference on October 22nd in Vancouver. The course is taught by Dr. Suzana Dragicevic and the activity provided a capstone experience for undergraduate and graduate students by exposing them to new technological advancement in GIS software and methods, and its implications for research in spatial analysis and modeling. Together with the course teaching assistant Alysha van Duynhoven, students participated in different presentations across the day including the Research Track sessions and networking reception. Since Fall 2015, this is the fourth conference field trip where students enrolled in this course had the opportunity to interact and network with attendees from GIS industry and academia.
