New Faculty Information

We sincerely welcome you in your new position as a tenure-track faculty member at Simon Fraser University!  As you may be aware, the Faculty Relations Office has overall responsibility for faculty relations, academic policy interpretation and contract administration.  

The Faculty Relations office manages many of the administrative processes that occur over the course of faculty appointments at Simon Fraser University.  We process all non-health and welfare benefits such as relocation expenses, professional development reimbursement allowance, study leave applications and parental leaves.  In addition we are responsible for implementing salary increase recommendations, contract renewal, and tenure and promotion decisions (as applicable).

The Faculty Relations office also develops programs for orienting new faculty to Simon Fraser University, aids new faculty with their transition to the University, and provides assistance with relocation and immigration matters.  We hold a New Faculty Orientation in the early Fall of each year; an official invitation and program details will be forwarded to you closer to the time of the event. We will also provide you with useful information about the various programs, resources, and services that will be helpful and of interest to you as you begin your new career at SFU.
