Congratulations to Professor Emerita Sandra Djwa for her Honorary Degree from McGill University

On Tuesday, June 7, 2016, SFU Professor Emerita Sandra Djwa, F.R.S.C., was awarded a Doctor of Letters honoris causa from McGill University.  Djwa joined the Department of English in 1968 and remained at SFU until her retirement in 2005.

Professor Djwa has published 10 books, and earned numerous awards and accolades, including: the Lorne Pierce Gold Medal for Literature from the Royal Society of Canada, the Governor General’s Award for Non-Fiction, and the Canada Prize in the Humanities. In 1981 Sandra Djwa was awarded a Killam Senior Fellowship and in 1994 she was elected to the Royal Society of Canada.
