Graduate Liberal Studies' Dr. Stephen Duguid now professor emeritus

From Graduate Liberal Studies...

As of January 1, 2018, Dr. Stephen Duguid of Graduate Liberal Studies assumes the title of professor emeritus, continuing in the program as the Simons Chair and working with alumni and mentoring current students.

Duguid earned his PhD in Middle Eastern history from SFU in 1977 and taught for several years in University of Victoria's Correctional Education Program. From 1980 to 1991 Duguid was the Director of the Humanities Programs in the Office of Continuing Studies at SFU and in 1991 he was appointed professor in Humanities and Graduate Liberal Studies. 

In addition to directing the SFU Prison Education Program from 1984 to 1993, Duguid was a founding member of the Community Economic Development Program and the Graduate Liberal Studies program where he has dedicated the last 27 years to the GLS program as a passionate instructor and dedicated director.
