Asbestos-containing materials (ACM) are present in many of the buildings throughout Simon Fraser University. These materials do not pose a health hazard unless the asbestos becomes airborne through construction activities or deteriorated materials. Asbestos emergencies
If at any time you are concerned about potential exposure to asbestos or discover that building materials have been disturbed that may contain asbestos please follow these simple steps:
- Leave the area immediately
- Notify your supervisor
- Contact Facilities Services and Environmental Health & Safety at the numbers above.
