Graduate and Family Housing

Welcome to Graduate and Student Family housing. Situated on Simon Fraser University's Burnaby campus, the energy-efficient residence building offers unfurnished studio style, one (1), and two (2) bedroom apartments for students. Graduate and Family housing is family focused and is reserved for graduate students and students with a spouse/common-law partner and/or children under 19 years old. The building is located in UniverCity on the East side of campus and is steps away from shops, stores, an elementary school, daycare and the SFU campus. These are unfurnished units. All furniture, including bed, are the responsibility of the renter in each unit to purchase on their own.

What is Graduate and Family Housing and is it right for you?

Graduate and Student Family Housing is family focused and is reserved for

  • Studio units: single graduate students
  • One bedroom units: graduate students with families and single graduate students
  • Two bedroom units: graduate and undergraduate students with families 

Families are students with a spouse/common-law partner and/or  students with one or more dependent children under 19 years old

  • One adult resident must meet SFU's academic credit requirements to live in family housing.

The project was designed with the idea of “getting to know your neighbours.” Two low rise buildings and a stand-alone community space surround a central courtyard designed for the enjoyment of users of all ages.

Rooms do not include

  • Apartment and rooms are unfurnished
  • No air-conditioning.  Buildings are designed for thermal efficiency. Building features provide passive forms of heating/cooling designed to keep building at a consistent temperature year-round

  • Underground parking accessible from the road and courtyard between the buildings
  • Bike storage and bike workshop space included within parking level
  • Laundry rooms on main floor of each building

  • Study rooms on most floors (not on main floor as laundry is there)
