Why is the program changing?

We have evolved our program to ensure that we continue to align with the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR), prepare graduates for the CPHR designation, and meet industry standards for HR professionals now and into the future.

If I complete the original program, can I still apply for exemption from the CPHR National Knowledge Exam® (NKE)?

Yes, you can still apply for exemption from the NKE if you graduate from the original program with a minimum average grade of B-.

What if I can’t take a course from the original program before it’s no longer offered?

You can take the equivalent new course to meet the course requirement of the original program. New courses begin in 2023 and are now open for registration.

How long do I have to complete the original program?

You need to complete the program within five years of the start date of your first course or by December 2027, whichever is earlier.

If you don’t recall your start date, log in to your Student Account. Under “My Account,” you can view your current and completed courses and their dates.

How is the new program different?

We have refreshed the program curriculum while adding more in-depth coursework in the areas of health and wellness, compensation and total rewards, and financial management. Visit the program page for full details on the revised program.

Can I apply to the new program if I've already taken courses from the original program?
