SFU continues to modernize our systems to directly and effectively promote the academic mission. In 2025, SFU IT launched the Integrated Faculty Management Systems (IFMS) program, a three-year initiative that simplifies and modernizes faculty lifecycle processes such as recruitment, tenure and promotion, study leaves, course planning, and TA management.

SFU is launching the AI-powered Simon Says virtual assistant on ServiceHub to provide students, faculty and staff with fast, reliable, 24/7 answers to IT questions such as VPN setup, Wi-Fi connection, and login troubleshooting.

Exciting upgrades are coming to SFU's classrooms, bringing new opportunities for enhanced learning and teaching experiences across our campuses. SFU IT is undertaking a Classroom Technology Improvement Update (CTIU) initiative, as part of its commitment to modernizing the university's IT systems and infrastructure and enhancing services to meet current and future demands.
