Policy & Procedures:
As per university policy AD 1.04, individual users are responsible for applicable deposits. Requesting departments are responsible for all service charges associated with key/card issues - contractors may be required to pay this charge.
- All room keys have a $20 deposit for internal users, unless waived.
- In Burnaby, contractors are responsible for a $100/key deposit, unless a key contract is signed and authorized.
- Departments, students, contractors and visitors purchase cards/fobs for a $20 non-refundable fee.
- There are no deposits charged for desk or cabinet keys.
- Deposits (in the amount originally paid) are refundable upon return of the key, card or fob (for those with deposits).
- The requesting department must provide an account code to cover the service charge.
- Service charges are not refundable.
