Dr. Huntley graduated from the College of St. Paul and St. Mary, University of Gloucestershire (UK) with a B.Sc. (Hons.) Geography and Geology in 1986, the University of Western Ontario (Canada) with a M.Sc. in Geography in 1990, and the University of New Brunswick (Canada) with a Ph.D. in Geology in 1997. He also completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Victoria at the Centre for Earth and Ocean Research in 1999. Dr. Huntley has been a scientist with the Geological Survey of Canada since 2005, specializing in Quaternary / surficial geology, glacial geomorphology, terrain mapping, and geological hazards. Current research supports core GSC responsibilities for managing Canada’s natural resources, along with reducing and mitigating the impacts and risks of landslides, tsunamis, and climate change on public safety, the environment, and economy. He is also a faculty member of the Thompson Rivers University Open Learning Division, tutoring a number of online undergraduate geoscience courses.
