Jane Pan
Political Science
Jane Pan joined the Department of Political Science as Department Manager in September 2023 on what was initially a four-month contract. She quickly found a welcoming community and an opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways, and was delighted to later continue with the department in an ongoing capacity. In her role, Jane takes great pride in supporting faculty, students, and staff and in finding practical ways to improve administrative processes and make things work more effectively. She particularly enjoys problem-solving, learning from challenges, and work collaboratively to turn ideas into improvements that support the department as a whole. For Jane, encountering a problem is energizing. The challenge of finding a solution gives her a sense of excitement and keeps her motivated.
Jane is deeply grateful for the trust, encouragement, and support she has received from the department's faculty and staff. She sees the Changemaker Award not only as recognition of her own contributions, but also as a reflection of the collaborative environment that has given her the confidence and opportunity to make positive changes. She feels very fortunate to be part of the Political Science community.
