- NATO Field School
Simon Fraser University’s Department of Political Science offers the NATO Field School and Simulation Program in collaboration with the NATO Defense College in Rome and Canada’s Delegation to NATO. We welcome graduate and undergraduate students from NATO member-states to apply to our innovative field school. Our summer program presents attendees with an opportunity to study abroad and gain real-world experience in international relations and diplomacy. Students who complete our field school program will earn 12 undergraduate or six graduate political science credits.
Visa requirements and Insurance
The NATO Field School operates within the Schengen Zone. Nationals of all NATO nations except Turkiye may travel within the Schengen Zone without a visa for 90 days. Students from Turkiye or who are intending to stay in the Schengen Zone longer than 90 days must apply for a visa. More information is provided by International Services for Students.
Participants are strongly advised to purchase international medical insurance in their home country before leaving. The field school does not provide medical insurance and cannot cover medical costs.
