The following course planning map is for declared Economics major students (BA) in the SFU-Exeter Acccelerated Law Program (ALP). 

Program requirements

For the full list of requirements for the Economics major within the SFU-Exeter Accelerated Law Program, please refer to the SFU Academic Calendar. 

Admission to the University of Exeter's LLB degree requires completion of 60 units with a 3.00 CGPA by the end of your Year Two Spring term in the program. Normally, all 60 units taken should be units required as part of the SFU ALP major.

Recommended course map

Below is a recommended course map for secondary school entrants in the SFU-Exeter Accelerated Law Program's Economics major. This is to ensure students meet the admission requirements to the University of Exeter Law School and that they are on track to complete the program within 6 years.

Year One

Spring Term

Complete 13 units.

  • ECON 201 (4)
  • BUS 232/ECON 233 (3)
  • 200-level ECON elective (3)
  • Lower level elective with B-Sci designation (3)
Year One

Summer Term

Complete 9 units.

  • Lower level elective with B-Sci designation (3)
  • Lower level elective with W/B-Hum designation (3)
  • Elective with WQB designation (3)
Year Two

Fall Term

Complete 12 units. 

  • ECON 302 (4)
  • ECON 333 (4)
  • ECON 355W (4)
Year Two

Spring Term

Complete 13 units. 

  • ECON 305 (4)
  • ECON 3XX (3)
  • ECON 4XX(3)
  • LD elective (3)

Students must be in good academic standing (CGPA 3.0 or higher) by the end of this term. 

Year Two

Summer Term

Students typically do not take courses as they prepare for transition to the University of Exeter. 

Year Three to Five

University of Exeter

Students complete the LLB degree program at Exeter.

Year Six

Fall Term

Complete 15 units. 

Year Six

Spring Term

Complete 14 units.
