Bring your positive energy and commitment to health equity to this exciting and diverse role where you can really make a difference as a Research and Evaluation Specialist, Indigenous Cultural Safety. In this role you will provide coordination, guidance and consultation in the evaluation of program design and delivery of Aboriginal Health (AH) and Indigenous Cultural Safety (ICS) services in Fraser Health (FH), in addition to providing support in research activities and research capacity development.

Fraser Health is responsible for the delivery of hospital and community-based health services to over 1.8 million people in 20 diverse municipalities from Burnaby to Fraser Canyon on the unceded and traditional homelands of the Coast Salish and Nlaka’pamux Nations. In this position your primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide evaluation design and implementation support towards Fraser Health’s ICS objectives.
  • Prepare research grant applications for approval, manage designated research project activities, budgets and resources, including subsequent knowledge translation activities.
  • Support training and capacity development initiatives in the area of Indigenous health research.
  • Serve as a consultant to FH colleagues and work in collaboration with other departments to make evidence-based recommendations regarding potential changes to programs, delivery of care and impacts on services and staff resources.

Education and experience required:

  • Masters Degree in a health science, social science or related discipline with coursework in research methodologies, statistical analysis and evaluation.
  • Five years' experience in related research/evaluation/decision support in Indigenous health, public health, community health programs, acute care or other health services.
  • Experience with project management, program planning and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous health approaches, protocols, traditions and values.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

This full-time position is located in Surrey, BC with access to public transit, restaurants and other amenities.
