Salary and duration: Annual salary range of $101,800 to $114,525

The Executive Director position with the Arramat Project is a unique opportunity to lead a global initiative intended to support transformative change for Indigenous Peoples’ health and well-being in the context of biodiversity and related environmental issues. Executive Director will share the values and aspirations of the Arramat Project. Working collaboratively with the six Co-PIs, the Executive Director will ensure appropriate implementation of operations, strategies, policies, engagement and standards with input from the Arramat Project co-Principal Investigators (co-PI’s), Advisory Circle and the Co-Leads of the Arramat Project Transformation Pathways. The Executive Director will remain knowledgeable about the activities, place-based projects and other engagement in appropriate detail, in a timely manner, and evaluate the results to move the Arramat Project forward. The Executive Director will oversee all Arramat Project staff and ensure effective management and operations. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate degree in a field relevant to the project goals (e.g. Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Public Health Sciences, Law and/or Policy) 
• Minimum of five years’ experience in project management, including staff supervision, budgeting, and financial reporting experience 
• Highly developed skills in project management and coordination including planning, development, implementation and evaluation 
• Strong interpersonal, community and public relations skills 
• Ability to organize ideas and information and to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written forms including effective presentations

Preferred Qualifications 

• The applicant is required to communicate extremely well in English. However, bilingual skills in English/French or English/Spanish and/or knowledge of an Indigenous language are desirable 
• Superior skills and successful experience in motivating and collaborating with others to build successful partnerships, teams, coalition and alliances 
• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Peoples, including Indigenous knowledge promotion and the interrelationality of biodiversity and the well-being of Indigenous Peoples; with a deep understanding of the impact and legacy of colonialism, environmental and social justice for Indigenous Peoples 
• Knowledge and understanding of university procedures and policies in areas such as research services, financial and human resources, and governance
