Volunteer Opportunity - Writer, The Artifice

June 16, 2021

Write for The Artifice

The Artifice is an online magazine that covers a wide spectrum of art forms. We do not run The Artifice, you do. The Artifice is collaboratively built and maintained by your fellow writers.

We’re a little bit different from other sites. Here’s how:

We only publish quality stuff

EditorInstead of recycling the same entertainment news stories or publishing commonplace editorials, we focus on unique topics that are intellectually stimulating and meaningful.

It could be a comprehensive list of Major Plot Points to Anticipate in The Winds of Winter, a study about Why we love the TV show Downton Abbey, and what this love suggests about ourselves, a creative exploration of What can be learned by suffering through the brutality of the movie Martyrs, an in-depth view of the Politics and Privilege in the animation The Legend of Korra, or a retrospective look at The History of Comics.

Collaboration

Our model of the writing process is divided into three major processes: PlanningWriting, and Reviewing. The Artifice is designed to encourage collaboration between writers on each phase.

To help you find a good topic to explore, we have Topics. With this feature, you can explore writer submitted topics and you can make your own submissions. Even unregistered users can submit topics. All articles are peer-reviewed. By collaborating and engaging with other writers, we ensure that our published articles contain high-quality content, formatting unity, and professional credibility.

Once you have submitted your article, it will be available for processing by our community editors, who will vote to either approve or revise your article. They will work with you to make sure your finished piece is the best it can be. If a vote for revision is cast, you will be given in-depth and fruitful advice to help make the revision process flow smoothly.

After one of your articles have been published, you will gain the ability to process submissions yourself, work in collaboration with prospective writers, and thus decide what type of material meets your own standards
