Research Assistant Opportunity - Research Assistant 3, BC Cancer, Vancouver, BC

June 29, 2023

The BC Cancer team are looking to hire a Research Assistant 3 on the BC Generations Project, a longitudinal cohort of nearly 30,000 British Columbians.

The posting is specified as a temporary full-time position ending March 31, 2024, however the position may be extended pending the availability of funding.

The position may actually not require lab experience, so experience with epidemiological research, use of R or SAS, and experience in customer service are key for the role.

The successful applicant will have some competency with data analysis. This data experience may have been in the form of university coursework and data analysis experience does not need to come from a formal position. Part of the time will be spent assisting with tasks in our lab, such as pulling and plating samples for researchers, processing incoming samples and some basic assays. The successful applicant will also be asked to assist with some research tasks, such as coding of occupational history records, data cleaning and analysis/interpretation, and contributing to research papers.
