Job Opportunity - Research Data Analyst, Fraser Health

Position Highlights

Bring your unique combined knowledge of research methodology with databases and spreadsheets to this exciting role where you can really make a difference! You will be working alongside a highly dynamic team and be responsible for performing data acquisition, management and analysis.

Your Specific duties will include:

  • Enter, process and analyze research data items including; dates of follow-up or completion, and number of missing value points.
  • Retrieve medical records from healthcare data systems to generate subsets of research data using database software.
  • Perform data management activities including data de-identification and logs data using study and subject numbers to ensure data security and privacy.
  • Develop and maintain data collection and storage systems.
  • Check and evaluate data quality using statistical analysis software applications
  • Develops calculations and formulae with spreadsheets and databases queries and performs missing data assessment and imputations using statistical software.
  • Generate flowcharts of participants with longitudinal follow-ups.
  • Conduct variable recoding, transforming, mapping, and other data processing steps.
  • Link data of different sources including record, demographical and health for investigating the reliability and validity with data from different sources including outcomes.
  • Sort, tabulating and prepares graphical summations of the data.
  • Assist in designing and executing research experiments including identifying gaps in data collection, analysis, and usage.
  • Summarize information from data analysis and generating reports using word processing and presentation graphics software applications. Ensures that the right tool and type of visualizations are used to represent the various analytical scenarios.
  • Participate in education and professional development programs for personal and team growth and conducts literature reviews to support the research development.

You know how to develop simple computer codes and syntax for advanced analysis and modeling.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline of data analysis and management including biomedical statistics, biomedical informatics, mathematics/statistics, computing sciences, health informatics, biomedical science or engineering science.
  • Two years of recent related experience working in a healthcare research facility with use of medical and health data including experience with biomedical dataset management and statistical analysis.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

This one year temporary full-time position is based at Central City Offices in Surrey, BC, with access to rapid transit, shopping, restaurants, on-site gym and other amenities.  Depending on the project, the position may be located at different locations, including an opportunity to work from home.
