Status: Three year, temporary full-time with the possibility of extension

Start date: January 2020 or earlier

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

JOB: Working under the supervision of Dr. Bohdan Nosyk, the Project Coordinator will assist in the planning, development and implementation of various studies within the Health Economic Research Unit team. ORGANIZATION: The BC-CfE is a world-renowned HIV/AIDS research centre with an integrated set of research concentrations in Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Trials, Population Health and Epidemiology, Health Economics and Professional Education Programs. A multidisciplinary team of Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Researchers, Statisticians, Programmers, and Data Analysts work collaboratively within these research concentrations to improve the health of British Columbians with HIV through the development, ongoing monitoring and dissemination of comprehensive research and treatment programs for HIV and related diseases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, posters and PowerPoint presentations.

-Research funding opportunities and assist in writing grant proposal applications including drafting budget justification, project timelines, liaising with co-applicants, managing onlineapplications/submissions, and managing references.

-Create and submit harmonized ethics applications, renewals and amendments.

-Ensure projects are administered according to research protocol.

-Coordination and facilitation of meetings, ensuring agenda are defined, interested parties are identified and notified, supporting materials are compiled, and prepared summary documents support decision-making.

-Assist with data access requests to regional and provincial data stewards.

-Complete progress reporting duties as specified by each funding body.

-May assist in recruiting and interviewing research subjects, developing and conducting tests and surveys, gathering or abstracting data or making presentations and liaising with other departments or outside organizations related to specific projects.

-Coordinate administrative tasks within the research team, including weekly timesheets, vacation requests, invoices, conference requests, and expense claims, grant deadlines, conference submission. deadlines, grant reporting, and ethics renewals

Education, Training, Experience

Degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Business Management, or a related field

(Master's level preferred)

Theoretical knowledge of Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field

Two years of related professional experience in a health research setting, preferably organizing/coordinating research projects and/or grant based programs, preparing and administering grant applications, preparing materials (publications, documents and reports) for mass distribution and conference/event planning

Experience with systematic review and data collection (preferably qualitative research)

Skills and Abilities

Strong analytical and planning skills

Deadline and detail-oriented

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong Microsoft Office Suite, EndNote and Access database management skills; Word,

Excel, database proficiency; graphics capability
