The Masters of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership: Post-Secondary, Surrey

Join us for an information session to learn more about our Master of Education (MEd) program in Educational Leadership: Post-Secondary. This two-year program which develops the research capacity and leadership skills of educators who are currently working in diverse educational contexts and will equip them for innovative practice in their contexts. The graduates of our program are well placed to make carefully considered and evidence-based decisions as educational leaders across the BC and Canadian educational systems.

Ideally Suited For:

Practicing educators across organizations that comprise adult learners (e.g. post-secondary, adult, health, and other organizations).

The Masters of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership: Post-Secondary, Victoria 

Join us for an information session to learn more about our Master of Education (MEd) program in Educational Leadership: Post-Secondary a collaboratively developed by SFU and Camosun College (Victoria, BC). This two-year program develops and connects research capacity and leadership skills of educators with professional practice, bridging theory, research, policy and practice within a community of inquiry through the cohort model. 

Ideally Suited For:

Working professionals who are engaged in post-secondary, adult education, or similar areas of education who aim to gain knowledge through the exploration and application of research, theory, and scholarship to their personal and professional lives.

The Masters of Education (MEd) in Curriculum & Instruction: Imaginative Teaching and Learning with the New BC Curriculum

Join us for an information session to learn more about our Master of Education (MEd) program Curriculum & Instruction: Imaginative Teaching and Learning. This two-year program focuses on understanding how learners’ imaginations develop and exploring ways to engage and grow imagination in learning the material of the curriculum. Additionally, it has been designed to respond to the particular challenges of the new BC curriculum, with its emphasis on Essential Questions, Big Ideas and Competencies. Teachers of all grade levels will learn how to adapt curriculum and pedagogy to foster students' imaginations to engage with and respond to curricular themes and topics.

Ideally Suited For:
Educators, teachers, leaders and decision-makers within the education system (public, private or independent K-12, pre-schools, day cares, Montessori, colleges, universities, and alternative learning centers).

Master of Education (MEd) in Curriculum & Instruction: Teaching and Learning in French: Plurilingualism, Francophonie and Education (online)

Join us for an Online Information Session to learn more about our Curriculum & Instruction: Teaching and Learning in French: Plurilingualism, Francophonie and Education MEd program. This four consecutive terms program, offered in French, focuses on the theme of diversity and inclusion. Students will explore, understand and apply current theories and research related to second language teaching and learning in Francophone minority settings. Students will also discover how to adapt their practice to diverse, multicultural and multilingual environments.

Ideally Suited For:

  • Primary and secondary teachers (core French, intensive French, French Immersion or Francophone)
  • Educators (government, community, non-profits, business)
  • School administrators
  • Community and cultural stakeholders

Master of Education (MEd) in Teaching Languages in Global Contexts

Join us for an Online Information Session to learn more about our Master of Education in Teaching Languages in Global Contexts program.

The program is designed for students from a range of educational backgrounds and is strengthened by the diverse experiences and perspectives each student brings.

The MEd TLGC is a cohort-based program and features a highly personalized graduate education experience (including academic and cultural support) and a strong learning community. It is a full-time 16-month intensive program that combines the theory of teaching and learning languages in a globalized world with a practical component of fieldwork (observations of teaching).

This program is designed for students from a range of educational backgrounds and is strengthened by the diverse experiences and perspectives each student brings.

Ideally Suited For

The program is intended for students from a range of educational backgrounds and from different regions of the world who may or may not have prior experience teaching additional languages.
