Doctoral Programs

PhD Doctor of Philosophy

  • Features: Dissertation, culminating in a thesis examination
  • Benefits: TQS upgrade, research opportunities
  • Format/Length: 4+ years
    (variable, average completion: 12-14 terms)
    Coursework once/ week each term, afternoons/ evenings
  • Admission Requirements: Master's degree CGPA 3.5, variable per program
  • Application Deadline: Variable, by program
  • Tuition 2020/21* academic year: $1,946.94/term
    (3 terms/year)

EdD Doctor of Education

  • Features: Dissertation, culminating in a thesis examination. 
    Focus on improvement of practice through blending theory with practice
  • Benefits: TQS upgrade, research opportunities
  • Format/Length: 4+ years
    (variable, average completion: 12-14 terms)
    Cohort format, evenings and weekends
  • Admission Requirements: Master's degree CGPA 3.5, variable per program
  • Application Deadline: Variable, by program
  • Tuition 2020/21* academic year: $5,092.15/term
    (3 terms/year)

  • Features: coursework and a comprehensive examination

  • Format/Length: Average 2 years (6 terms) variable format
    Coursework once a week each term, afternoons/evenings
    Units: 20 - 45
  • Admission Requirements: Undergraduate degree. CGPA of 3.0, variable per program

MEd Master of Education

In-Community cohort format

  • Features: coursework and a comprehensive examination
  • Benefits: TQS upgrade
  • Format/Length: 2 years (6 terms)
    Friday evenings/Saturdays for six terms
    Units: 35
  • Admission Requirements: Undergraduate degree. CGPA of 3.0, variable per program
  • Application Deadline: March 15
  • Tuition 2020/21* academic year: $3,089.06/term
    (3 terms/year)
    • includes program specific events, guest speakers, telebook, cohort support, Site Assistant

MSc Master of Science

  • Features: Coursework and a thesis

  • Format/Length: Average 3 years or less, variable completion times

MA Master of Arts

  • Features: Coursework and a thesis

    Units: 25 - 39

  • Application Deadline: February 15

Graduate Diplomas

GDE Graduate Diploma in Education

  • Themes/Cohorts: Various, see: Graduate Diploma in Education
  • Benefits: Use credits from GDE to apply for 1 year MEd EP
  • Format/Length: 2 Years (6 terms)
    Evening and weekend classes and 2 weeks in July or August.
    Units: 30
  • Admission Requirements: Undergraduate degree CGPA of 2.5, Teaching Certificate
  • Application Deadline: Variable, by program
  • Tuition 2020/21* academic year: $320.28/unit
    (average 5 units/term)
