  • Develop a career as an educator in the arts, and gain a PhD in Education. Combine critical arts studies and arts educational theory, while developing an arts specialization and building a broad interdisciplinary knowledge across the arts.

  • Develop your capacity to enhance educational settings and address issues related to learning and cognition. This small and dynamic program provides the opportunity to work collaboratively with faculty members to deepen your knowledge and advance your career.

  • This program is designed primarily for those intending to pursue careers in R&D and/or teaching at the post-secondary level. It is based on an apprenticeship model of learning in which students work closely with faculty members on research projects at the leading edge of their fields.

  • Formerly known as Curriculum Theory & Implementation, PhD. Our Curriculum and Pedagogy Stream of the Educational Theory and Practice (eTAP) program will expand your understanding or scope of practice within formal and informal sectors of education, including K–12, early childhood education, adult education, post-secondary education, etc, while you examine program development, assessment, curriculum development and the theories and practices of instructional design and delivery.

  • Formerly known as Curriculum Theory & Implementation: Philosophy of Education, PhD. Our Philosophy of Education Stream of the Educational Theory and Practice (eTAP) program will encourage you to explore the deeper questions related to individual, cultural and environmental aspects of education. You see or dream that the world can be transformed, and in the process expect to also be transformed as well.

  • The Languages, Cultures and Literacies PhD program is offered in English or French language. The LCL core courses in English and French are similar in content and structure. Students taking the LCL PhD programs in English or French take core courses in their separate streams. Students from both programs may study together in the LCL Seminar, which students take during their first and second years. Faculty members from across the program may also collaborate in doctoral supervision.

  • Our doctoral students in this program come from a variety of academic backgrounds. They also focus on an array of mathematics education contexts including primary, secondary, or college-level teaching and learning, as well as teacher preparation.

  • The Leading for Educational Change in the Yukon, EdD provides a blend of rigorous coursework and original research that meets the needs of educators who occupy positions of influence in schools, colleges, universities and health and community services. Students will focus on integrating education and leadership theory with practice and drawing on the Yukon’s unique socio-political-cultural-environmental context, preparing them to understand the current educational landscape, think for change, and enact change is fundamental to the program’s intent. The program emphasizes integrating theory with practice.
