Heather
Graphic Novel
By: Olivia Chloe Boenardy
Course: IAT 100 Digital Image Design
Description: Heather is a graphic novel inspired by Conan Gray's song "Heather." It tells the story of Liz, a girl in love with Srijan, who finds out he’s in love with someone else—Heather. As Liz deals with heartbreak and longing, she struggles with jealousy and self-doubt but eventually learns to accept the situation and move on. The story explores themes of unrequited love, personal growth, and self-acceptance.
The design focuses on bringing the emotions and story to life through thoughtful comic layouts. The photographs have been edited in Photoshop to create a cohesive comic style. The colours play a big role in showing Liz’s journey, with complementary tones of yellow, bluish-green, and redish-pink.
