SFU’s SIAT is boothing at Anime Revolution 2025 in Vancouver with Virtual Ambassador Appearances!
Vancouver, BC - Simon Fraser University’s School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) will be boothing at Vancouver’s largest anime convention, Anime Revolution 2025 (Anirevo Vancouver), August 1st through 3rd. The booth will feature projects from SFU SIAT students, live interactive appearances from SFU’s Virtual Ambassadors, or VTubers, and a recruiter from SFU SIAT, as well as exclusive new Virtual Ambassador merchandise.
Anime Revolution booth info:
- Dates: August 1st & 2nd from 11:00am-7:00pm and August 3rd from 11:00am-5:00pm
- Location: Booth #136 at Vendor Hall, Vancouver Convention Centre
- Address 1055 Canada Pl, Vancouver, Canada
Interactive live virtual ambassador appearances
SFU’s official VTubers Mo and Faye Ayato will both be making special live appearances at the Anirevo SIAT booth with the ability to see, hear, and directly respond to crowds in person on screen using cameras and microphones as if really present! The vAmbassadors will be speaking to crowds directly to encourage interaction. In the spirit of the academia they represent, they will be “roasting”/constructively criticizing any passerby’s favourite anime and video games from a critical design perspective.
SIAT continues to innovate and provide hands-on experiential learning to students with the world’s first official university virtual ambassador program, in this case with the uniquely XR (extended reality) experience of letting virtual avatars interact with people in the real world. Student technicians will be supporting the live technology pipeline from behind the scenes.
vAmbassador Appearance Schedule
Friday, August 1stSaturday, August 2nd at 12:00pm: “I’ll Roast Your Favourite Anime!” with Mo Ayato- Saturday, August 2nd at 5:00pm: “I'll
RoaaaastConstructively Criticize Your Favourite Game!” with Faye Ayato
