Course: IAT 312 Foundations of Game Design
Description: Cost of Connection is a social deduction party card game designed to raise awareness about the vulnerabilities of seniors to scams. Players assume the roles of loving grandparents, loyal (or opportunistic) family members, and devious scammers, navigating a web of trust, deception, and information management.
The game uses innovative mechanics, such as hearing and memory impairments for grandparents, to create humor and simulate real-life challenges, making each every game engaging and thought-provoking. Beyond entertainment, Cost of Connection sparks meaningful conversations about reconnecting with family, empathy, and protecting vulnerable loved ones from scams.
