Description: Unseen Treasures in a 2D video game based on the script “The Unseen Treasure” written by Michelle Lee and Kirill Tsoy, a story in the fantasy adventure genre. This script caught our attention for its diverse characters and environments, strong existing narrative structure, and potential for additional plot points.

We initially broke down the entire script into a story map highlighting key moments in the narrative and added in player choices in specific moments that could create diverging storylines and impact the narrative outcome. To create opportunities for more audience engagement, we identified two moments that would require more player interactivity: a scene where the player would need to type in the correct code to open the protagonist’s vault, and a scene where the player would fight against a troll attack.

Next, we finalized all dialogue that would be kept from the original script as well as additional dialogue. To reach Act 2 faster and to streamline the linear narrative, we removed some supporting characters, including the child beggar and the protagonist’s rival Valeria.

The game was broken down into twelve scenes and coded in Unity. The last step was to connect all the scenes and build the full game project.
