Course: IAT 410 Advanced Game Design
Description: Undertaker is a third-person hybrid turn-based strategy (TBS) game that combines real-time dodging mechanics with traditional turn-based combat. Set in a fantastical soul realm resembling an amusement park, players explore one island after another. Within this narrative-rich environment, players engage in tense boss battles that test both reflexes and strategic decision-making.
Key features include: a Hybrid Combat System (real-time dodging during enemy turns and turn-based skill execution during player turns), Narrative Exploration (discover narrative clues through environmental storytelling and interactive objects), Dynamic Boss Fights (unique multiphase boss battles with escalating attack patterns as the fight progresses), Immersive Gameplay that integrates diegetic UI and environmental cues enhance player immersion.
