AfterImage
Immersive Environments, Game
By: Yuncheng Chen, Chuqiao Zhong, Zhengyao Zhu, Siyu Chen
Course: IAT 445 Immersive Environments
Description: AfterImage is a linear puzzle-solving VR game that offers participants a dreamy and heartwarming experience. Players take on the role of a doctor diving into a patient’s mental world to repair their memories, gradually uncovering the truth about their own identity.
The core mechanics revolve around the camera and photo album, which provide essential clues. Players must analyze differences between photos and their live camera feed to solve puzzles. Through these interactions, combined with the patient’s voiceovers, players gradually piece together the story while enjoying a visually captivating experience.
Our goal is to create an immersive narrative that tells a touching story of love and relationships, while also raising awareness for individuals on the margins of society, such as those living with mental health challenges or memory-related illnesses.
