Congratulations to Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student Troy Boucher on receiving the 2023 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship!

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is awarded to doctoral students with a high standard of scholarly achievement and academic excellence, demonstrated leadership ability, and research potential.

Troy Boucher is actively engaged in research within the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Lab (ADDL). Boucher's studies focus on autism and intellectual disability throughout individuals' lifespans. Through his work, he delves into the challenges faced by individuals with autism, seeks to uncover their unique talents and interests, and actively engages with autistic individuals, advocates, and community stakeholders in crafting a universally accessible world. The primary focus of his research revolves around the concept of inclusivity. His goal is to gain insight into the stigma surrounding autism and partner with autistic individuals to instigate transformative shifts in society. This includes initiatives such as designing educational programs to enhance autism awareness among children and adolescents.

Boucher has received various prestigious scholarships, including the Vanier Scholarship, Robert Russell Family First Nations Graduate Scholarship, Dean's Graduate Fellowship, BC Graduate Scholarship, and SSHRC Canada Graduate Scholarship.
