A dedicated professional worked with 15 research projects as Economist, Business Analyst, and data Analyst. 4 years experience in tutoring and leadership roles. Advance skills in Excel, SAS, STATA, Matlab, Dynare, and SAP software .

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?

I have taken some time to research on my learning options and I have decided there is no better university to pursue further studies to hone my research skills than at the renowned University of Simon Fraser, whose reputation as among the top universities worldwide precedes it. I am excited to undertake its demanding curriculum, with a faculty staffed with experts and professionals, and a wide industrial network that offers ample opportunities for research and internships.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?

As Greg Mankiw puts it, Economists are two kinds.  Problem solvers who act like engineers, and those who describe the world around us as scientists. Monetary policy is the domain of a Nation’s Central Bank: takes in a process of drafting, announcing, and implementing a plan of actions to maintain macroeconomic objectives.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT SFU?

I particularly enjoy Macroeconomics and Econometrics, and am currently working on the following topics: Unconventional monetary policy toolkits, Logistic vs Probit Regression Models, and Regression discontinuity design.

HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR-FUNDED AWARDS? IF SO, PLEASE TELL US WHICH ONES AND A LITTLE ABOUT HOW THE AWARDS HAVE IMPACTED YOUR STUDIES AND/OR RESEARCH.

Faculty scholarships, Deans honour list, CBIE, Libyan Scholarships. All have significantly impacted my study and put confident to continue in my field of Economics.
