I am currently pursuing my second Master's in economics degree at SFU. I have several years of experience in teaching and researching economic topics. My main area of interest is Blockchains and Cryptocurrencies.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?
SFU's department of Economics is one of the top-5 economics departments in Canada. The MA in Economics program is mathematically rigorous, data-driven, and intense, but the theoretical and empirical skills you learn in this program help you in academia and industry.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?
The challenging and intense one-year master’s in Economics program at SFU focuses on theoretical foundations and empirical applications of economics, emphasizing quantitative analysis of current real-world problems.
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT SFU?
The courses are intense but rewarding. I particularly enjoyed the financial economics course, where I learned about the theoretical foundations of financial economics. I must also mention the level of support you get from the faculty and administrative staff, which is excellent and helpful.
