Shu-Wei Yang

Shu-Wei Yang is a labor rights advocate and social movement activist based in Taiwan. He currently serves as Secretary-General of the Taiwan Labour Front (TLF), a leading labor advocacy organization founded in 1984 and dedicated to advancing workers’ rights. Over the years, TLF has evolved from providing legal assistance to engaging in broader social movement advocacy, consistently standing on the front lines to speak out for workers.

Yang has long been engaged in the research, critique, and promotion of labor policy, with particular expertise in labor education, organizational development, and cross-sector dialogue on social issues.

He began his involvement with TLF in 2007 as an intern while studying Social Work at Soochow University, marking his transition from social work into social movement advocacy. He later obtained a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Organization Management from Fu Jen Catholic University in 2025. In addition to labor rights work, he actively participates in various social movement coalitions, seeking to integrate labor issues into broader social discussions.

He is committed to expanding the influence of the labor movement through autonomy, solidarity, and engagement beyond established circles, while also working to deepen labor consciousness at the grassroots level and empower younger generations.
