Eleocadio Martínez Silva
Biography
I have lived in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico since 1963, coming from San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Before embarking on an academic career, I was a worker in the ceramics industry. My background is as a sociologist.
Over the years, I studied for a PhD in Social Science at El Colegio de Mexico and currently work as a professor and researcher at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. I am president of the Mexican Association of Labour Studies (AMET) and I have specialized in trade unionism in the Mexican steel sector.

Habito la ciudad de Monterrey, Nuevo León, México desde 1963 procedente de San Luis Potosí, México. Antes de emprender una carrera académica fui obrero en la industria de la cerámica. Mi formación es de sociólogo.
Con los años estudié un doctorado en Ciencia Social en El Colegio de México y actualmente trabajo como profesor e investigador en la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. Soy presidente de la Asociación Mexicana de Estudios del Trabajo (AMET) Me he especializado en el sindicalismo del sector siderúrgico mexicano.
