Luisa Veloso

Luisa Veloso is a Sociologist and Associate Professor at Iscte-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, in Portugal, as well as senior researcher at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology at the same institution. She is also an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Porto.

She has been developing research in the fields of labour, professions, economic structure and education. She has collaborated with various artistic institutions, such as the Cinemateca Portuguesa, the Serralves Foundation, Rumo do Fumo and the Seven Years Association. She has published several books, including, as co-editor, O trabalho no ecrã: memórias e identidades sociais através do cinema, published in 2016 by Edições 70, and Arts, Sustainability and Education. - ENO Yearbook 2, published in 2021 by Springer. She was a member of the Organizing Committee for the Colloquium Sindicalismo, Trabalho e Cidadania – 90 Anos Depois do 18 de Janeiro de 1934, which was held at Iscte-IUL in 2024.
