Irakli Iremadze

Biography
Irakli Iremadze was born in Khulo, Georgia, in 1992. He received a BA and MA in Political Science and a PhD in History from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. He is a visiting lecturer on Modern Georgian History at Ilia State University (Tbilisi, Georgia) and serves as the executive director of the Caucasian House (NGO). From 2015 to 2019, he headed the Research Center for the Democratic Republic of Georgia (1918-1921) at Tbilisi State University. Iremadze has coordinated several scientific projects focusing on Modern Georgian History and is the author of various scholarly and popular works. He is a founding member of “Movement for Social Democracy” in Georgia and is a board member of a leftist think tank - “Progressive Forum of Georgia”.
Research Interests
Iremadze's research interests include the social policy of the Democratic Republic of Georgia (1918-1921), as well as the history of the Georgian Social Democratic Party and the Georgian Trade Union movements in the 19th and 20th centuries. His doctoral thesis examined the social policy of the Democratic Republic of Georgia (which was the first country in Europe led by Social Democrats). He has coordinated various projects that focus on researching the history of the Democratic Republic of Georgia, the Georgian Social Democratic Party, and labor movements.
