Areas of interest

Dr. Lin's primary areas of expertise include arts based educational research, digital storytelling, community arts education, and visual research methodologies. Her current scholarship explores ways of envisioning community as the space of knowledge production where artful social innovations and pedagogical relations can be re-imagined. She is a strong advocate of practice-led research and artful community engagement. As a teacher, her vision is that developing artist-teacher thinking processes through media arts stimulates students’ imaginations and provokes critical discourse and social action, thus fostering a commitment to inclusivity and diversity. She views her experiences as a teacher and researcher through a lens of creative inquiry and has a background in education and visual arts.
