Michael (Pin-Chuan) Lin

Dr. Michael Lin is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at Mount Saint Vincent University and an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University. He is also a member of AIEDU Lab, where he contributes to research on generative AI, learning analytics, self-regulated learning, and evidence-informed educational design.

His research examines how emerging technologies, particularly generative AI, learning analytics, and personalized learning environments, can support self-regulated learning, learner agency, and teaching practice. His current SSHRC-funded work focuses on chatbot-assisted learning, personalized learning environments, and learning analytics to strengthen teaching and improve student learning. Across his research, Dr. Lin is interested in the responsible design and use of educational technologies to support learners, teachers, and educational systems.
